Diploma in Nautical Science

The one Year DNS Course is a course leading to B.Sc., Nautical Science after 18 months of sea service and also leading to 2nd Mate Foreign going Certificate of competency awarded by the Ministry of Shipping, Government of India, enabling the cadets to become Navigating officers on board Merchant Naval Ships anywhere in the world. The one year Diploma in Nautical Science Course is strictly residential.
This Diploma Nautical Science course also leads to get B.Sc degree in Nautical Science. During the first 18 months sea service, Cadets receive the Distance learning Programme (DLP) the onboard necessary study material. With further sea service & exams they will be promoted to Chief Officer and then becoming Captain of the ship. The Training academies assist necessary guidance for placement for successful meritorious students. The below career path shows, that how a candidate can become a captain of the ship.

PHASE 1 : After Diploma in Natiucal Science course Join as a Cadet
(Salary 800 USD Per Month / In Indian Currency Rs 60,000 Per Month)
PHASE 2 : After 18 months Sea Experience & DLP by university & passing 2nd Mate Exam get promoted as 2nd officer
(Salary 3,000 USD Per Month / In Indian Currency Rs 2.25 Lakhs Per Month)
PHASE 3 : with further Sea Experience & passing chief Mate Exam get Promoted as Chief Officer
(Salary 6,000 USD Per Month / In Indian Currency Rs 4.5 Lakhs Per Month)
PHASE 4 : with further Sea Experience TO BE PROMOTED as CAPTAIN (10,000 $)

ADMISSION FOR DIPLOMA NAUTICAL SCIENCE (DNS) - 1 YEAR COURSE
ELIGIBILITY :
Pass in HSC / (10+2) From a Recognized Board with 60% Average in PCM (Physics, Chemistry & Mathematics Subject). (or) B.sc in Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics or Electronics with Physics as individual subject in one of the years with an average of not less than 55% marks in the Final Year. (or) BE (or) B.Tech Degree.
AGE LIMIT :
Up to 25 years.
VISION :
No Color Blindness, 6/6 Vision in each eye. No Eye Glasses permitted.
